Where did we start from?

Our team got involved in a research project aiming to find a solution to an issue regarding livestock. It concerned the excessive use of pharmaceutical products and survival of animals together with enhancing the quality of their life.

Centro Ricerca e Sviluppo (CRS S.r.l.) is a brainchild of Poweren®. It was born in 2016 as innovative start up dedicated to experimentation in Natural Sciences and Engineering and public or private institutions, including Veneto Region, got involved. Our team developed an integrated sanitization of air and water system employing technologies having low environmental impact in order to prevent and reduce illnesses and the excessive use of antibiotics on farming. We faced that challenge setting as goal the improvement of the living conditions of animals and consequently minimize diseases to humans straightly connected to meat consumption. We chose to go down the road of sustainability. Poweren® has always taken seriously its mission of investing in cutting-edge technologies that meet the social responsibilities values.

What has been the outcome?

Integrated sanitization system of air and water bases on two technologies: ECA technology, that is to say dual chamber diaphragmatic electrolysis to sanitize water, and RCI (radiant catalytic ionization) to sanitize air. ECA considers element such water, salt and electricity as starting points to produce two different solutions, Anolyte and Catholyte. The first one (pure solution of hypochlorous acid/hypochlorite) is an excellent disinfectant; the second one (sodium hydroxide solution) has cleansing and degreasing effects. RCI technology sanitizes air thanks to UV light and enriches it with oxidizing molecules to purify the surrounding room. These technologies offer three certainties:

  • Sustainability. They only use water, salt and little electricity to let the generator work. The solutions are biodegradable and can be disposed without polluting. On-site production so there is no transport to consider.

  • Safety. No chemical products employed so there is no risk for the staff to be exposed to dangerous substances.

  • Affordability. Disinfectants and cleansing costs, storage cost, washing and disposal costs of tanks are all reduced.
